SAN FRANCISO: Clean, Green and Crazy?
This week two different rankings of communities were released.
Now why many business rankings provide communities an opportunity
to talk and walk proud, specifically if ranked in the top ten of
such rankings, those not ranked high dread their release as they are
either ranked in the center of the curve or worse yet at the bottom.
Such is the case this week for the city of San Francisco. See

The on-line magazine The Daily Beast released it rankings of the
Nation's Craziest Cities. San Francisco was ranked #2 behind
Cincinnati, Ohio and ahead of Providence, Rhode Island. This is
a ranking that cities like San Francisco probably doesn't appreciate,

However, American City Business Journals released their Green Cities
Index. Again, San Francisco finished second, behind Portland, Oregon
and ahead of Honolulu. This is the kind of ranking that cities probably
appreciate more specifically for San Francisco. See 03-18-10 Minute at
www.CaliforniaBusinessMinute.com But does this week's rankings
make the 'City by the Bay' clean, green and crazy or crazy for clean and
green. You be the judge.
Meanwhile the California Business Minute annually publishes California
Ranked, Rated and Graded, a single source that reviews how California
and cities in the state rate in these rankings. The reports can be found
at the Main Menu of the website under CA Insights at Research.
