IDAHO RECRUITING BUSINESS IN CALIFORNIA
This week, the State of Idaho announced that they were going to be recruiting businesses
from Oregon and Washington while apparently using a new website to express the virtues
of moving to the state to California businesses.
Idaho has some great ski resorts just ask Schwarzenegger, recall he broke his leg there
trying to ski. Sorry, but he knows better to ski elsewhere when there are more and even
better resorts in California.
But in fairness to Idaho, they have a great system of public higher education. Between,
Idaho, Idaho State and Boise State universities, they have 15,000 plus students. But here
comes the rub. They are educating more students then the state has jobs. That means
they are a exporter of employees, because Idaho has a population smaller than the Capital
Region of California, around 2.5 million.
While the press release did not illustrate a web address, it is just as well. One California
businessman asked, "Do you think they will bring chocolates like Colorado? I responded,
this is Idaho, the 'Gem State' where they grow potatoes. He responded,"well they could
cover them with chocolate."

As a former Californian, now an Idahoan ... I strongly agree with Gov. Otter ... This is a great place to do business and it sure is nice have a government that knows how to balance it's check book and not mortgage the lives of our kids!
